Apart from the comical side of this movie it really shows how Japanese people were living in 50s. There is an interesting scene that the boarder girl damage the tatami mat with an iron, and tatami craftman comes to investigate. He then remove the tatami to carry back to his workshop to patch the damage, and bring it back to install again.
