In this government-suggested sequel, Sugata again grows as a judo master, and demonstrates his (and by extension, all Japanese) superiority to the foreign warrior.

This was strange? Apparently the government wanted a sequel, clearly AK wasn’t thrilled to do it. The first film is a great film , it has some pacing issues but great. This one starts off with some new script and after a short time the movie is just refilming scenes from the first film, poorly.
