On the Goto Islands, Tora-san rescues an old lady and befriends her. She then dies all of a sudden and at her Christian funeral, he meets the old woman’s granddaughter, who lives alone in Tokyo. Back in Shibamata, Tora-san looks her up, and finds that a young man, who is studying to be a lawyer, is secretly having a crush on her. However, this young man is too shy to express his love. In order to help this pair of lovebirds, Tora-san acts as a go-between by matching her up with the young man.
